Instructions for Replacing Electrodes in the Philips OnSite AED

  • Locate the latch at the top edge of the OnSite and slide it to the side (if you’re looking at the front of the AED,the latch moves from Left to Right).
  • This should release the old electrodes cartridge. Use your finger to pull on the yellow plastic shell to remove the electrodes. If you have difficulty, turn the AED upside down while pulling the latch and the old electrodes should fall out.
  • Follow instructions on white/red foil of new electrodes for instruction:
    • Tear open foil along dotted line.
    • Insert cartridge into OnSite by seating the base of the electrodes and then pushing the top of the cartridge (clear plastic) down until the cartridge “clicks” in.
    • The device should audibly recognize that adult electrodes were inserted.

Once you have changed the pads in your AED, please update these expiration dates in the SMART Track system. If you have trouble logging into the system, or if you have any questions, please call the GW Lifesavers Program at (202)741-2958.
