▸ Want to Take BLS Too? ▾
You may take BLS immediately before ACLS. We recommend taking BLS before ACLS, as the curriculum is designed to flow in that order.
▸ What’s Included in the Course ▾
- HeartCode access (included in the course price).
- ACLS eBook included in HeartCode (fulfills the textbook requirement).
- In-person skills practice and testing session.
Required stations
- Management of a respiratory arrest (including BLS ventilation with a bag-valve mask, oral and nasal airway)
- 1-Person CPR and AED BLS cardiac arrest management
- ACLS Megacode station with multiple rhythm recognition, pharmacological and electrical interventions, and post resuscitation care
If you do not successfully complete a station, you will be given one chance to reattempt the station the same day. If you do not successfully pass, you will be required to remediate and retake the skills test at another time.
▸ Additional Terms and Information ▾
- This is a practical skills practice and testing session only. Wear comfortable clothing to participate in the practical skills stations.
- If you are unsuccessful, remediation will be necessary to complete the course and receive certification. This does not occur on the same day, and additional fees will be assessed for instructional time.
- The ACLS Provider Course does not teach ECG interpretation or pharmacology, and does not grant AHA BLS certification. Students are expected to already be proficient in rhythm recognition and ACLS medications.
- This training is not recommended for initial ACLS certification due to the limited classroom time, but you will not be prevented from attending. Refunds will not be issued for those who do not successfully complete the skills session. Additionally, funds will not be applied towards additional training.
