â—‹Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

The American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course provides a framework for the management of an injured patient. Designed for physicians, this course teaches participants how to prioritize and stabilize a critically injured patient. International recognized, this course provides concise guidelines that can be applied to any patient by any physician. The course presents techniques in a manner that can be easily adapted to fit any physician’s needs.

The successful participate will be able to accurately and rapidly assess the patient’s condition. The participant will be able to prioritize patients and resuscitate and stabilize multiple patients according to this assigned priority. The physician will also learn to assure optimal care is provided at all stages of the patient care.

This course is essential for doctors who treat trauma infrequently because it allows an easy logarithmic approach to patient care. This course is also extremely important for physicians that regularly treat trauma patients because it provides a higher standard and care approach for the treatment of trauma patients. The ATLS Course allows for a measurable and reproducible approach to the care of a traumatic patient.

Upon completion of the ATLS course participants may receive up to 19.5 Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours for a full certification and up to 5 Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours for a renewal certification.

There are no prerequisites for this course for the full certification course. For a renewal course, your certification must be current. Please note, this course is designed for physicians.
