Interested in taking your EMT training to the next level?

The GW Medical Faculty Associates Department of Emergency Medicine is excited to announce an Advanced EMT Program for Fall 2025. This program is a flexible nights-and-weekends program for those interested in advancing their scope of practice to the next level. The class is an ideal entry point for those looking to explore Advanced Life Support disciplines.

Taught by practicing GWDEMTC clinicians and educators, students will complete the didactic and practical portions of the National Registry Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (NRAEMT) program with both lectures and hands-on simulations. Most lectures for this class will be delivered in a virtual instructor-led (VILT) format. Students will have the opportunity to apply what they've learned through clinical rotations within affiliated emergency service institutions.

After successfully completing the course, students will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) computer-based certification examination. For more information on requirements for the National Registry, please visit the NREMT website.
